Bertie Blackman, new single Black Cats

2009 has been an incredibly busy year for Bertie Blackman. Since releasing ‘Secrets and Lies’ in May, Bertie has received high praise from the country’s press, rotation on radio, consistent support from music television and strutted stages all over Australia on a sold-out national tour, customised her set for Parklife 2009 and has been booked for an abundance of summer festivals.

In November Bertie entered a new international chapter in her young career, travelling to the UK for a promo tour sparking radio play on BBC 1, BBC 2 and XFM ahead of the UK release of Secrets and Lies.

Upon her return Bertie was awarded the ultimate in Australian music industry accolades: an AIR Award for BREAKTHROUGH INDEPENDENT ARTIST OF 2009 and an ARIA Award for BEST INDEPENDENT RELEASE 2009.

Black Cats is the enigmatic fourth single from Secrets and Lies, a sexy summer dance-floor filler fuelled by grinding electronic synths and thunderous claps produced by Lee Groves (Goldfrapp, Gwen Stefani) and mixed by rising stars UK production duo The Slips of Phoenix, CSS and La Roux remix acclaim. Accompanied by remixes from Bang Gang 12” prodigy Shazam (Empire of The Sun, Sneaky Sound System) and Sydney-based party starters Calling in Sick, Black Cats promises to be the standout single for summer 09/10.
