Dallas Frasca will be hitting the road as main support for Xavier Rudd on his upcoming tour Dark Shades Of Blue which kicks off on the 20th October (see dates below). With her new single Burnt Toast set to hit radio this week and Itunes on the 6th October, Dallas Frasca is sure to thrill her already hefty fan base and entice the unaware. With her gutsy, raw vocals and irrefutable talent for finger pickin’ and guitar grooves Dallas Frasca has been described as the modern day Janis Joplin.
Taking out Triple J’s Light Your Fuse competition in 2005, Dallas is quickly becoming the leading lady of the predominately male roots and rhythms scene. Not bad for a girl who learnt to sing at 19 by listening to vocalists on a small transistor radio. Jeff Curran makes the two piece complete with his eclectic collection of guitars and a stomp box which commands an audience.
Earlier this year Dallas released a compilation album of her previous two EP’s called ‘Learn Your Routes’ which achieved wide spread success across the country including Triple J and scored them some great spots on Australia’s great Festival circuit including the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival, Falls Festival, Pyramid Rock Festival, Apollo Bay Music Festival, Point Nepean Festival, Southbound Festival and many more..
Dallas Frasca has an undeniable stage presence. Her powerful, commanding vocal style is one of a kind, a force to be reckoned with and definitely a live experience you won’t want to miss!
Burnt Toast is the first single to be taken off Dallas Frasca’s debut album which will be released in February 2009.
