Employing electronic undercurrents, Tonight is definitely a nighttime record. Throbbing beats gyrate beneath trademark Franz Ferdinand arrangements with a distinctly 80s feel. Opening with the stomping single ‘Ulysses’, this record is perfect for throwing on before you hit the clubs – it will definitely get the blood flowing. Look no further than ’No You Girls’ and ‘Live Alone’, the latter being a heavy slice of electro. Singer Alex Kapranos hisses and croons throughout the album, finishing with the lulling ballad, ‘Kiss Me Katherine’. A fine, cohesive effort.
