Indie-folk chanteuse Laura Marling’s headline show in Melbourne on Friday, January 22nd at the Corner Hotel is SOLD OUT. Due to overwhelming demand, a second performance at the Corner has been added for Sunday, January 24th.
There’s no stopping her! All three of her headline shows for the upcoming Sydney Festival sold out within hours. Good news for fans up north though; tickets for Marling’s debut Brisbane show on Wednesday, January 20th at The Zoo are currently still available but selling fast.
The demand follows on from stellar performances on Marling’s visit to Australia for Splendour In The Grass last year. With her debut album ‘Alas I Cannot Swim’ receiving worldwide acclaim, Marling’s headline Australian tour sold out at lightning speed and reviews heralded the second coming of the new Joni Mitchell.
Laura’s sophomore album is due out in early 2010 and promises to delve deeper into the darker side of her lyricism. The highly-anticipated release was recorded at Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios in Bath by producer Ethan Johns, whose repertoire includes Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams and Ray LaMontagne.
Catch these intimate shows by the indomitable London songstress while you can.
Tickets for the new show go on sale 9am next Thursday, December 10th.
