Recording an album with your husband and letting him sing on most of the tracks could be a career ending move or a masterstroke of genius. Luckily for Kasey Chambers her career is going to keep on building!
This new album featuring both Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson has something to please anyone who has ever been a fan of Kasey’s, not to mention that Shane can actually sing as well.
This album switches from true blue Country & Western, to folk-like ballads song softly by Kasey, to those tracks that you can turn the volume up in the car and shout out loud. The title track Rattlin’ Bones is one of those songs that you just find yourself joining in, as are Sleeping Cold and Your Day Will Come. Kasey’s voice is at its strong, haunting best!
Anyone who has enjoyed some aspect of Kasey’s music in the past will find something to their liking on this album. And the addition of Shane’s vocals doesn’t interfere, it gives further depth and variety to the songs, nine of which were co-written.
