Rob Potts Entertainment Edge and Chugg Entertainment are happy to announce Newcastle singer-songwriter, Morgan Evans, will be joining US teen sensation, Taylor Swift, as the opening act on her first Australian tour.
This is set to be one of 2009’s hottest tours, with Taylor’s new album, Fearless, debuting at #1 on the US Billboard Album Chart this week, with sales in excess of 592,000 copies – the highest first-week total for any female artist this year! The album was released last weekend in Australia and debuted at #1 on the ARIA Country Chart, with Taylor’s first self-titled album, certified triple-platinum in the US, still holding at #4.
With over 133 million song streams on her myspace page today (and an incredible million and more additional plays every day), TAYLOR SWIFT, is the first country star of the internet generation. Currently ranked at #3 worldwide across all genres of music on myspace, it is no surprise Taylor chose her Australian Tour support, using the same format.
Australian Promoters and Universal Music submitted several artists to her US Management and Taylor made her choice by checking out their music on their myspace pages!

Morgan will be opening for Taylor on her shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney; and will also be performing at CMC ROCKS THE SNOWYS FESTIVAL 2009, where Taylor will be appearing on Saturday 7th March.
Morgan first came to prominence as the 2007 Telstra Road to Tamworth Winner, the beginning of a stunning eighteen months that saw his debut single and video, Big Skies, race to the top of the National Charts and score two Golden Guitar nominations, including “2008 Best New Talent”. He has also toured the country with US superstars, BROOKS & DUNN, and GARY ALLAN; playing to sold-out arena crowds Nationally.
