Sneaky Sound System ‘2’ is the Number 1 album in Australia this week.
Sneaky Sound System released their first album in August 2006. The album debuted at number 101 on the national ARIA album chart and went on to sell over 200,000 copies, reaching its highest chart position of #5 in November 2007. The album remained in the ARIA top 100 for 69 weeks and spurned four hit singles that at one point occupied the Aria national Top 40 singles chart all at the same time, with I Love It receiving the honour of the longest charting single in ARIA chart history.
‘2’ is released exactly 2 years to the day of their debut self-titled album and Kansas City, which has spent 6 weeks in the Top 20, is the first single released from ‘2’. Both are out now through their own label Whack Recordings, distributed by MGM.
After playing Glastonbury, o2 Wireless and Oxegen Festivals in the UK in June/July, the band has spent the past four weeks back in Australia spreading the word about their new album. Later this week they will finish an east coast tour before jumping on a plane back to the UK to play their sold out headline show at London Scala, followed by a UK tour with fellow countryman Sam Sparro.
Stay tuned for Adelaide and Perth dates to be announced soon!
